Border requirements – General information
• Customs declarations are mandatory when transporting goods between the UK and EU. Please ensure that you have all the documentation required before crossing the border.
• In addition to the existing border requirements, a GMR is now MANDATORY for ALL GB to EU and EU to GB transports, including for EMPTY vehicles.
IMPORTANT
- The vehicle tractor registration number must be registered in the GMR in section 2 "About your vehicle" (not the trailer).
- The tractor registration number arriving on the terminal MUST match the one recorded in the GMR.
If the GMR is invalid, the vehicle will be refused travel.
• GVMS barcode requirements for all customs declarations (read more).
